Barbara Billingsley was born in Los Angeles, California, on December 22, 1915. Her parents are Lillian Agenzia and Robert Collyer Combes, a police officer. Barbara is American-born and of mixed ancestry. Barbara’s parents divorced before she was four, and her father eventually remarried an assistant police officer. Billingsley’s mother began working as a machinist at a knitting factory after the divorce.
Barbara received her undergraduate degree from Los Angeles City College and her high school diploma from Washington Preparatory High School. Her courses or her siblings’ whereabouts are unknown.
