Danny McCray’s Early Life

Danny McCray attended Westfield High School, where he played football competitively and even contributed to the team’s second-place finish in the Class 5A state title in 2004. He also received first-team all-district accolades during his senior year of high school due to his consistently strong performances. With such a strong resume, Danny was admitted to Louisiana State University, where playing on special teams was his top priority. Danny played in 52 games during his career at LSU, which was neither great nor terrible.

Danny was prepared to fulfill his lifetime dream of playing professional football in the NFL after completing his college football career. In 2010, the Dallas Cowboys first signed him as an undrafted free agent. He had a positive experience working on special teams after being selected for the post. In accordance with the expectations placed on him, Danny was doing admirably, ranking among his team’s top special teams tacklers. He became a team captain in his third season playing for the Dallas Cowboys thanks to his special teams tackling prowess.

In a game against the Chicago Bears, he had the chance to prove himself when Barry Church, a member of the first team, suffered a significant injury, forcing him to start at strong safety. In spite of making 10 starts that season, he was unable to produce at the level that would have been reasonable given other stats.

By 2013, Danny was struggling to make the playing squad, which forced him to take a lower wage out of concern that he could be cut from the team. The fight for his place was becoming even more fierce as fresh stars joined the group.

He made the decision to sign a one-year contract to play with the Chicago Bears the following season. After a successful season with them, he returned to the Dallas Cowboys for a second term. Later, no new contract would be offered to him, and he would be a free agent.
