Due to its availability and food value, people went hunting for the beast on a large scale that causing a massive reduction in the number of bison.   • Bison may seem very clumsy or lethargic by their look. But it would be very foolish to think so. They are very agile and can attack you anytime. They can jump up to 6 feet high and run 35 to 40 miles per hour. 
  • Their tail has messages. When the tail of a bison falls touching the ground and moves smoothly it means the bison is calm and not agitated. But when the tail remains straight and not moving it means the bison is alert and ready to attack.
  • The bison is a prehistoric beast. Even at the present National parks in all the states where bison are living, they have been living in these places since prehistoric times. 
  • Their skin is such that they don’t face any problems in the winter or in the snow. Their skin works as snowplows.
