Life of Muhammad Ali Jinnah

Jinnah was born in Karachi to a merchant family. At 16 he went to London, where he studied law at Lincoln’s Inn and became one of the youngest Indians called to the bar. Returning to Bombay, he became a highly successful lawyer. He entered politics in the Indian National Congress, was once called the “ambassador of Hindu–Muslim unity”, and joined the All-India Muslim League in 1913.

Famous Words of the Quaid

Jinnah’s speeches remain part of Pakistan’s national story. In his address to the Constituent Assembly on August 11, 1947, he spoke of a state where citizens would be free to go to their temples, mosques or other places of worship. His three guiding principles — Unity, Faith, Discipline — became the national motto.
